Chennai Metro Rail Ltd invites applications from Indian Nationals for the following posts in CMRL:
1. Station Controller (244 Posts Gen-76,BC-65,BC Muslim-8,MBC/DC-49,SC-44,ST-2)
Name of Post: Station Controller(60 Posts)/Train Operator(87 Posts)/Jr. Engineer-Stations(97 Posts)
Pay Scale: Rs.13500-25520/-
Qualification: Diploma or Equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical (EEE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) from a Govt. recognized Institute.
Age Limit: Age not exceeding 28 years.
2. Jr. Engineer (210 Posts Gen-65,BC-56,BC Muslim-7,MBC/DC-42,SC-38,ST-2)
Name of Post: Jr. Engineer- Mechanical(45 Posts)/Electrical(120 Posts)/Electronics(34 Posts)/Civil(11 Posts)
Pay Scale: Rs.13500-25520/-
Qualification: Diploma or Equivalent in relevant discipline (Mechanical, EEE, ECE & Civil) from a Govt. recognized Institute.
Age Limit: Age not exceeding 28 years.
3. Technician (265 Posts Gen-82,BC-70,BC Muslim-9,MBC/DC-53,SC-48,ST-3)
Name of Post: Technician (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Civil/Plumbing/Blacksmith/Welding/ Information Technology)
Pay Scale: Rs.8000-14140/-
Qualification: Minimum SSLC pass plus ITI in specific trade from govt. recognized Institute.
Age Limit: Age not exceeding 28 years.
Selection Process:
1. Online Test, Proficiency in Tamil followed by Medical examination in A1/B1 category.
2. The selection process would judge different facets of knowledge (Aptitude & Subject Skills), comprehension, aptitude, proficiency in Tamil and physical fitness. Candidates will have to pass through each stage successfully (including Medical examination) for qualifying for the issue of appointment orders.
How to Apply:
1. Candidates applying for the Various Positions in “Chennai Metro Rail Ltd (CMRL)” are required to apply only through the CMRL website: http://www.chennaimetrorail.gov.in. No other Means/Mode of application will be accepted.
2. General & Others (including Ex-servicemen) candidates are required to pay a Non-refundable fee of Rs.500/- and SC/ST candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.100/- (for processing & postage charge) in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of M/s Chennai Metro Rail Limited, payable at Chennai. The application number, candidate’s name, address and mobile number are to be indicated at the backside of the Demand Draft.
3. Send receipt of printed application form along with requisite documents, photo by ordinary post only.

1. For all the above posts, knowledge of Tamil in Read, Speak and Write is compulsory. This will be subject to verification before selection.
2. The selected candidates on appointment will be on Probation for a period of two years (including period of training).
3. Candidates with B.E./B.Tech or any other higher qualifications are not eligible for the above mentioned posts .
4. Candidates are eligible to apply for only one post.
5. CMRL will not be responsible for loss of DD while in transit and in case of non-attachment along with the hard copy of application.
