What is Walk-In Interview:

Walk in interview means conduct of interview in the office with out any call letter or formal call .You may go and appear...Unlike other forms of recruitment where you apply in response profile. Mostly selections are done on the spot....Walk - In - Interview means you can just walk in with your resume and other credentials and attend for an interview. You don’t need to take any prior.  A walk-in interview occurs when an individual can interview for a job position without having a pre-scheduled appointment. In some cases, attending a job fair may qualify for this type of interview. Job candidates attending these events will often dress as if they are going to an interview and bring along a resume. Company recruiters will give on-the-spot interviews to candidates whom they believe will fit the company’s job profile. Large organizations may also hold a walk-in interview session at their location, allowing individuals to come in off the street to interview. Job candidates will need to prepare for these interviews just like any other. Even though the company does not take interview appointments, it will most often have a scheduled time for the walk-in interview process. Dressing for the specific job type, having several resumes and reference lists on hand and preparing questions for the interviewer are still needed for this interview. Proper preparation can also set one job candidate apart from others, especially those who do not have sufficient documents available for the interviewer to review.

TIPS for Walk-In Interview: With a very little preparation anyone can perform well in Walk-In interviews.

1. First of all collect as much as information possible about the company you are hoping to join.
2. Be ready for the most frequently asked questions like Tell me about yourself? Why should we hire you? What is your strengths and weakness? etc
3. Reach Early: Reach the venue early before the scheduled start time. Most of the companies start the interview process on first come first serve basis and the interviewer will be fresh and will remember you better.
4. Be Equipped: Be equipped with your CV and all your required documents; also remember to carry a pen along with you.
5. Be formally dressed.
6. When sent inside for the interview, do not grab the first seat available. Wait for the interviewer to ask you to sit down. First impression is the best impression, look confident but not over confident
7. Be polite, calm, confident not arrogant, honest and answer to the point within the allotted time period. The interviewer will not be able to pull out all the information, make sure to tell them about your achievements professionally.
8. Remember time is very precious; nobody is interested to hear about your family tree. Be very specific to your job.
9. If the interviewer is noting down some point do not lean to see what is being written, it will make you more nervous.
10. Make your exit confidently. Do not speak anything bad about of the company, arrangements, infra structure or don’t gossip in the premises of the company. Your behavior can be judged there also.
