(CSIR) Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, (CSMCRI) Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute Gijubhai Badheka Marg, Bhavnagar, Gujarat-364002 invites application from eligible candidates for the post Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Project Assistant (PA) Level II by Walk in Interview.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Project Assistant (PA) Level II (12 Posts Genl-12)

Qualification: M.Sc. first class in Botany/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Microbiology. CSIR-UGC NET qualified candidates will be given preference.  The selected JRF will be allowed to register for Ph.D. 

Age Limit: Should not be more then 28 Years.

General Conditions:

The Discipline of Marine Biotechnology and Ecology of CSMCRI, Bhavnagar is actively engaged in multidisciplinary research in frontier areas of modern biology and biotechnology.  Some of the ongoing/new research activities of the Discipline for which we wish to recruit 12 Junior Research Fellows are: 

1. Cloning and characterization of stress-responsive genes, promoter isolation and development of transgenic crop plants

2. Climate change and adaptation-  coastal saline ecosystem

3. Mapping of marine biodiversity (seaweeds and marine microbes) using molecular tools and techniques

4. Genomics & metagenomics of marine microbes

5. Seaweed biology and cultivation

Fellowship: For CSIR-UGC/DBT/ICMR-JRF: Rs.16,000/- PM + HRA; NET-LS: Rs.12,000/- PM + HRA; Non NET-JRF/LS Rs.12,000/- PM consolidated.
