Indian Overseas Bank Proposed Recruitment of Probationary Officers in Junior Management Grade Scale -I (1000 Posts)


Indian Overseas Bank invites applications from Indian Citizens for the post of 1000 Probationary Officer in Junior Management Grade Scale - I.Pay Scale - Rs.14500 – 600/7-18700-700/2-20100-800/7-25700 plus DA, HRA, CCA as per rules in force from time to time.  

Candidates are requested to apply ONLY through online between 08.02.2011 and 01.03.2011 and advised to follow the sequence of steps given in Indian Overseas Bank’s website http://www.iob.in

Online Registration:
1. Opening Date: 08.02.2011  
2. Closing Date: 01.03.2011
3. Date of Written Examination:  22.05.2011

Qualifications:
1. Graduation  from a recognised university  with minimum 60% Marks.
2. Computer literacy shall be an essential qualification, which the candidate must either possess before or acquire within six months of joining the Bank.  
3. Diploma in Banking & Finance (DBF) from Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) is a desirable qualification besides the above entry level qualification.  

Age Limits:  The age limit will be minimum 21 years and maximum 30  years, and will be reckoned as on 01.01.2011.

Application fee:
(a) For SC/ST/ Physically Challenged - Rs 50/-  (For Postage)
(b) For all others (including OBC)     -  Rs 400/- (350+50 For Postage)

Selection Process:
Written Examination will comprise of Objective Test consisting of Test of Reasoning , Test of English Language, Test of Quantitative Aptitude, Test of  General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry, Test of Computer Knowledge  (250 Questions carrying total weightage  of 225 with total  time duration of  150 minutes). There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the objective tests which will result in negative marks for every wrong answer @ one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question. If the total of the penalty for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer. 


Note:  
1. Application Fee has to be paid in cash only at any Branch of Indian Overseas Bank before applying online.
2. Candidates are advised to only enter percentage of marks in the online application form.
3. Candidates should not send the printout of the online application to the Bank and should submit the candidate’s copy of Payment Receipt along with the call letter at the time of written examination failing which the candidate will not be admitted for the written examination.  
4. The Bank reserves the right to alter written examination date and / or alter /add written examination centre under unforeseen circumstances, if any.
