Job Description :
• We are looking for a senior Wintel systems engineer who will be responsible for servers and related Wintel technologies across a global enterprise environment as well as local APAC domains.The candidate requires both technical experience and the ability to interface with stakeholders across ranks and functions.
• Proficiency is required in all aspects of Wintel administration including hardware and software installation and troubleshooting, operating system configuration and security, backup and recovery, capacity planning, monitoring, performance and tuning, research and evaluation of tools and techniques, scripting and automation, standards and procedures related to the environment
• Perform day to day Tier 3 support activities for Window 2003/2008 member servers and Active directory.
• Build and support Windows 2003/2008 physical and virtual servera.
• Creation, maintenance and execution of High Availability and Disaster Recovery and proposals of alternative Wintel architectures and solutions
• Adherence to change management standards.
• Implementation, administration and maintenanceof Active Directory and other Wintel technologies.
• Server performance tuning and Capacity management planning including usage of MOM/SCOM and other tools.
• Participate in technical evaluations of projects during the initiation phase to ascertain impact on existing systems, provide inputs on risks, analyze and propose solutions to technical issues.
• Receive escalations from level 1/2 support teams and participate in oncall and weekend work rotations.
• Follow-the-sun support including integration into local, regional and global virtual teams.
Minimum or Basic Requirements :
Include minimum required education/degree, experience and/or background, computer skills, language skills, or licenses.
• Minimum 4 years experience supporting Wintel infrastructure in an enterprise environment covering Windows 2000, 2003, 2008
• Experience in a 24X7 Microsoft Windows Server environment with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows architecture including design and support.
• Experience with installation, upgrading, and patching of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 server.
• Experience with break/fix resolution and root cause analysis.
• Advanced performance tuning/optimization skills.
• Ability to automate tasks with scripting
• Experience with backup and recovery tools
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioristize based on business requirements
• Familiarity with SAN and NAS technologies
• Familiarity with multi-platform environments and integration, co-existence of those technologies
• Experience managing vendors such as Microsoft, HP, Oracle etc
• Understanding of ITIL processes and proceedures
