Job Description :

• J2EE Architect to provide architecture/design leadership to an enterprise wide WAS migration & Reference architecture compliance program

• Understand the customer’s Java reference architecture and devise solution approaches & automation recommendations for migration activities

• Work with customer’s Architecture team to obtain approvals for Cognizant’s solutions ( & or deviations )

• Conduct code/design reviews and impart training as needed to the team members

• Troubleshoot potential performance issues and provide solution recommendations

• Provide pre-sales , project planning and solutioning support for new development/re-engineering projects

• Lead architecture definition and product/technology selection for new development projects

Skillset Summary 

• Currently in Architecture/Technology CoE roles with Tier 1 IT services organizations

• 8 – 12 years progressive IT experience in technology intensive roles .

• Atleast 2 years designing/architecting enterprise applications as a Senior Architect

Core technology skill set includes :

o Tools/Products – RAD, WAS, MQ, DB2

o Design expertise - Core/J2EE design patterns, OOAD

o Frameworks – Struts, Spring, Hibernate/iBatis

• Strong grasp on OOAD and design patterns

• Good spoken/written communication skills

• Strong experience with various estimation methodologies & technology solutioning

• Must have prior J2EE application migration experience

• WebSphere administrator/specialist certification preferable
