Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad Recruit Director (1 Post) - Feb 2011

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for appointment to the post of Director in the Indian School of Mines (ISM) at Dhanbad in the pay scale of Rs.75000/- plus Special Allowance of Rs.5000/- plus other allowances as admissible under the rules of the School.

Qualification & Experience: 

1. The applicant should be a Ph.D degree (with 1st class degree at Master’s level) with 15 years experience in teaching/industry/research out of which 5 years must be at the level of Professor or above in Engineering/Technology.

2. Candidates from industry/profession with Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology and with professional work which  is significant and can be recognized as equivalent to Ph.D Degree and with 15 years experience of which at least 5 years should be at a Senior level comparable to that of a Professor.

Age Limit: Applicant/nominees should preferably be below the age of 60 years at the time of advertisement of the post

Note:

1. The appointment will be made on contract basis for tenure of five years or till the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. The Director will be governed by the service conditions and rules and regulations of the School.

2. The candidate for the post should have a distinguished academic/research background relevant to the thrust areas of the institute. He should be able to provide guidance and leadership to diverse and inter-disciplinary groups of academics, researchers and students. Besides having a broad scientific and technical vision, he should have the dynamism and ability to plan and develop academic and research activities in the School. The candidate should have also good administrative ability.
