Ajuba Solutions opens New Facility in Chennai - November 2012

Tony Mira, Founder and Group CEO, Ajuba Solutions said Ajuba plans to start business development office in the U.K.

Driven by the increased business that  U.S healthcare reform is bringing in, Ajuba Solutions is rapidly expanding with the opening of a new facility here and plans of starting another either in Hyderabad or Coimbatore in the coming year.  Ajuba, which is a healthcare IT services provider, helps hospitals and physicians in the U.S with back-end work such as data-entry and coding diseases.

“This would be our sixth facility so far here. One of the advantages of the healthcare industry is that it’s usually immune to slowdown, which is why our client demand is up. Chennai has been very good to us in the 10-plus years that we have been here, and will continue to be our major expansion hub,” said Tony Mira, Founder and Group CEO, Ajuba Solutions.

“The investment we put in here was about $1 million, with this being a 400-seater facility. We are looking at ending the year with a total of 2,800 employees, up from 2,300. We also have bought the adjacent spaces in the same building which will allow us to scale up. With regard to our next facility in South India, we are evaluating and should have a confirmed a city by this year-end,” he added.  While the Indian facilities are only servicing U.S clients at this point, Ajuba is looking towards the U.K, Canada and Australia as potential markets in the future.

“We have definite plans to start a business development office in the U.K. While the U.S market gives us all of our business at this point, there are time differences in which we have slots free here. To increase our productivity, we are looking at possible clients in the U.K,” Mr. Mira said.  Though the company had a facility in the Philippines, he said, India would still continue to be Ajuba’s base of operations.

“The Philippines centre has less than 50 people, and is just a back-up in the case of any emergency. Despite other companies shifting, India is the best fit for us in terms of cost benefits and employee quality,” he said.
