ADMISSION NOTICE - March 2011

 (for Ph.D & PDF)

National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT), established in 1966 with assistance from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has been accorded lead institution status by National Programme Implementation Unit (NPIU) under Ministry of Human Resources Development Govt. of India.

The Institute invites application for Doctoral and Post Doctoral fellowship in the following departments,

1. Foundry Technology

2. Forge Technology

3. Manufacturing Engineering

4. Metallurgy & Materials Engineering

5. Applied Science 

6. Humanities

The Institute’s main emphasis on the following fields,

1. Materials Science

2. Metallurgical Engineering

3. Ceramics

4. Manufacturing Engineering

5. Metal Casting

6. Forging and Heat Treatment

7. Allied Materials Processing Technology

8. Nano-thin Films

9. Pure and Applied Sciences

The selected PDF candidates will also be required to assist in the teaching and upkeep of the laboratories.

Eligibility: For Post Doctoral Fellow (PDF): Ph.D. degree in Science/ Engineering.

For Ph.D.:

1. Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology or Master’s degree in science or equivalent in relevant discipline with 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 in aggregate.

2. The candidate must have a valid Gate Score or must have been admitted to the M.Tech.Programme with a valid Gate Score for scholarship. For admission to Ph.D. Programmes inthe Sciences, the candidates must have a NET Fellowship (UGC/ CSIR) valid from the current year in the relevant areas. Application may be sent to Chairman, Academic Affairs on plain paper giving details of curriculum vitae including achievements / experience etc. A copy of the application may also be sent to the H.O.D. of the respective department. One may apply for more than one department and field.

Application may be sent within Twenty-Five days from the date of publication of advertisement.
